How did this whole biscuit thing happen?
Kyle grew up eating biscuits and gravy made by his father, Gary, on weekend mornings. Many years ago, Kyle decided he wanted to do the same thing for his own family.
He knew they had to be made with buttermilk and they had to be the perfect balance of salty and fluffy, yet sweet enough to handle sticky fruit jams or cinnamon and sugar with melted butter.
Batch after batch, the recipe evolved into what it is today. Every single biscuit is made by hand, by Kyle himself.
They are traditionally eaten at breakfast of course but at Wooden Spoon FW, we like to branch out. From ham and pimiento cheese biscuits to biscuits full of braised beef to honey butter and andouille, we haven't really found anything that isn't a delicious complement to Chef Kyle's Basically Famous Biscuits.
